South Coast Distillery

On paper, South Coast Distillery was established in 2017, but the story really began in 2011. In a share-house in Wollongong, a mutual appreciation for gin by all housemates, led to a tradition of “Martini Thursdays.” Each week, they explored all varieties of the spirit, hoping to discover the perfect gin for the ultimate martini. Seeking inspiration, they met with distillers far and wide to learn about the craft and focused on perfecting their own recipes. By 2018, they were primed to produce their first commercial release, Sublime Gin. The globally recognised product was named 2019 Champion Australian Small Batch Spirit at the prestigious Australian Distilled Spirits Awards and received the Silver Medal at the influential San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Recently, the prestigious 2020 Silver Award Contemporary Style Gin at the London World Gin Awards selecting the very best in all internationally recognised styles of gin. Look out for an exciting line-up of new releases for 2022, including Damson Plum Gin, Smoked Gin, Illawarra Plum ‘Sloe Style’ Gin, and Pink Gin. Our Cellar Door is now open every Friday, 4pm till late, and Saturdays Midday till late. Come and try our range of products, indulge in a cocktail or two and preview upcoming releases. You can also enjoy a selection of beers, wines and spirits made by other local producers. We are also open for tours, group bookings, and gin making workshops by appointment, and takeaway sales during business hours during the week.
